Rail Pads

Rail pads are mats which are positioned between steel rails and railway sleepers to protect the sleeper top from wearing and impacting. Rail pads are essential to reduce shock and vibration in a ail system. They also enable better load distribution over a larger surface, elimination of load concentration and fatigue stresses and absorption of uneven contact surfaces between rail and support.

Hytrel® is an ideal polymer choice for rail pad applications. Due to its elastomeric properties, flex fatigue performance and durability, it helps to absorb the displacement of the rail under the weight of the train, reduce vibrations and bounce back if displaced.
