Conventional plastics are made with byproducts from petroleum, natural gas, and coal. Trifilon’s materials reduce reliance on fossil fuels – in some cases by up to 30%.

BioLite® is a family of materials that blend non-food competing plant fibres from hemp and Norwegian spruce with thermoplastics to form granulates for injection molding. Consumer products made with BioLite can trace ingredients to sustainable European farms and biodiverse Nordic forests. BioLite immediately reduces the CO2 footprint of the plastic component compared with pure plastics and those reinforced with glass fibers or minerals.

Trifilon Biolite matches the stiffness of 40% mineral filled polypropylene, but is 25% lighter. This makes it an ideal material for product applications such as cosmetics pots.
