Medical Tubing Clamps

Polymer medical tubes are used to transport a variety of fluids e.g. liquid drugs, parenteral fluid, water or blood. Sometimes the fluid flow needs to be stopped and to do this, a clamp and/ or clip is required to restrict the tubing and halt the flow of fluid. Medical tubing camp/ clip designs often have thin wall sections, so they benefit from the high modulus of Delrin® SC. Additionally, the fine teeth detail that index to the required position are better in Delrin® due to its enhanced rigidity levels.

Delrin® SC is a medically approved portfolio of homopolymer acetal. Compared to acetal copolymer, Delrin® acetal homopolymer offers higher tensile strength, stiffness, creep and fatigue resistance, and significantly higher impact resistance. The extra mechanical properties of Delrin® allow for parts to be made thinner and smaller, whilst delivering the same performance of a thicker, less compact copolymer acetal moulding.
