Investment and Expansion in the Nordic Region

Chertsey, UK- 22 June 2017- Distrupol are making considered investments and expansions in the Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark regions of their business for optimal growth, as part of their 2017 strategy.

Mikael Klapp, Development Engineer Nordics, joins Distrupol with 15 years’ experience in the industry, having previously worked at global market leader, SABIC. Based in Sweden, Mr. Klapp will use his expertise alongside the sales team across the Nordics to support customers in areas such as material selection, part design, processing, moldflow, project management and part analysis.

Further strengthening the team is Ilkka Lauttia, Product Manager, based in Finland and covering the Nordic region. Mr. Lauttia joins Distrupol from key supply partner in the region, DuPont, where he worked for over 11 years in sales and development roles. In this role, his product knowledge and industry expertise will connect supplier portfolios with the sales team for optimal project development and growth.

Both team members are in addition to Björn Kjellberg, Regional Sales Manager, Nordics, who joined Distrupol as part of the region’s investment program in March 2016.

Richard Orme, Director, Distrupol commented “We are delighted to welcome on board two extremely successful and renowned names from the polymer industry in the Nordics. With their support, alongside an already well established team, we are looking to create significant growth opportunities in the second-half of 2017 and beyond.”

As well as strengthening the salesforce across the region, the business has also focussed on areas for portfolio improvement. Already representing global leader, DuPont Performance Materials, in the region, as well as other supply partners such as SABIC, LG Chem and Lucite, Distrupol has recently expanded their relationship with BASF, the leading supplier of Elastollan® polyurethane (PU) basic products, systems and specialties. “Strong and longstanding supplier partnerships are what differentiate Distrupol from our competitors.

We pride ourselves on supplying the highest quality polymer materials from global leading manufacturers. Welcoming BASF to our portfolio in the region is another example of how we work with the best, to achieve the best,” commented Andrew Canning, Director, Distrupol.
